HELP WANTED 2025/2026
CAMP HOST POSITION -
Seasonal Camp Host job opening for campground near Hueco Tanks State Park. Rock climbers from around the world visit Hueco Tanks in fall, winter and spring for bouldering (and some sport climbing). Our campground offers primitive camping, RV sites, camper rentals, yurt rentals and house rentals. We operate primarily from November - April. Applicants should familiarize themselves with HUECO TANKS STATE PARK rules and regulations to ensure they understand park visitation if they desire to climb/hike in the park.
HOST DUTIES include :
SEASONAL POSITION FROM NOV - APRIL : Start date is flexible, but preferably a week before we open in November if possible.
2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
POSITION 1 - 10 hrs/week in exchange for a FULL HOOK UP SITE. Total of 40 hours/ month requirement (10 hrs/week) in exchange for FHU RV SITE, includes utilities (water, 20/30/50 amp electric, sewer, internet, trash) plus access to free showers and laundry facility
POSITION 2 - 5 hrs/week in exchange for a PRIMITIVE CAMP SITE. Total of 20 hours/ month requirement (5 hrs/week) in exchange for PRIMITIVE SITE. Utilities include internet, trash plus access to free showers.
HOURLY PAY: This is primarily a trade for site position, and our goal is to complete most of the work within the allotted monthly work hours indicated above, however any hours over the monthly hour requirement would be paid $15/hour.

HOST DUTIES include :
- Check to see that drop in campers have paid & registered.
- Daily shower/toilet cleaning,
- Collecting and logging pay envelopes (self pay site),
- Mediate any conflicts with campers and camp sites.
- Monitor water tank levels
- Occasional Guest assistance
- Cleaning rental units
- Maintaining cleanliness of grounds,
- Report maintenance and repair issues as they arise
- Be observant of campground activities and enforce campground rules and ( ie quiet hours, camp firepit policy, etc)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic record-keeping experience, including money handling
- Physical requirements: Ability to move safely over potentially uneven terrain (dirt roads and trails). Able to climb a ladder to check water tank levels
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately
- Willing to work a flexible work schedule and be on call
- The ability to work in cold weather.
- Valid drivers license, Minimum age: 21
